The shirt was designed for an even bigger return: 2026/27 would be Betis’ first Champions League season since 2005/06.

Betis Debuted Their 2026/27 Shirt Before 2025/26 Had Even Finished

Technically, this shirt's first competitive appearance happened before its own season had even begun. Betis revealed the 2026/27 home kit on 23 May 2026, then sent the team out in it that same evening against Levante in Matchday 38 of the 2025/26 league campaign. Ez Abde scored in the fifth minute and Pablo Fornals struck the winner as Betis closed the season with a 2-1 victory.

Hummel deliberately changed the classic Betis stripes for the new campaign. They became narrower than the previous season, while two sections of fine green-and-white diagonal lines cut across the shirt to create a gradient effect in the jacquard fabric. The inside collar carries “Somos Balompié” and Betis also returned to their traditional white shorts after using black in 2025/26.

But the real significance of the shirt was what came next. Betis had finished fifth in 2025/26 and qualified for the Champions League, ending a wait stretching back to 2005/06, when they became the first Andalusian club to play in the modern Champions League.
