€170,00

On 4 March 2018, Messi stood over a free kick against Atlético Madrid and curled it past Jan Oblak for the 600th goal of his professional career. It was the only goal in a huge 1-0 win that pushed Barça eight points clear of Atlético at the top of La Liga. Even crazier, Messi had now scored directly from a free kick in three consecutive matches.

THE STORY BEHIND THE SHIRT

The Shirt Messi Wore for Career Goal No. 600

Messi entered the Atlético game on 599 career goals. Twenty-six minutes later, he bent a free kick beyond Jan Oblak to reach 600: 539 for Barcelona and 61 for Argentina. Goal No. 1 had come almost 13 years earlier, when Ronaldinho assisted an 18-year-old Messi wearing No. 30.

The timing made it much more than another milestone. Atlético were Barça’s closest challengers and Messi’s goal was the difference in a 1-0 win that opened an eight-point lead at the top of La Liga. It was also his third straight game scoring from a direct free kick.

He finished the season with 34 league goals, winning both the Pichichi and a record fifth European Golden Shoe. But the number that makes this particular No. 10 easy to remember is 600: one swing of Messi’s left foot, this Barça home design and another ridiculous landmark crossed off the list.
