Club Cienciano (Peru) 2011 Home (Small)

This is Cienciano’s 2011 home shirt, made by the Peruvian brand Multimax.

At first, it follows the club’s traditional look: a bright red body, white collar details and the double-C crest over the heart. The unusual part sits lower down. A dark landscape illustration rises from the bottom of the shirt, bringing the mountains and historic identity of the Cusco region directly into the design.

That connection matters because Cienciano is not simply another club wearing red. It comes from Cusco, the former centre of the Inca Empire and the club is commonly known as Los Imperiales because of that origin. Its badge also comes from the Colegio Nacional de Ciencias y Artes, the institution from which the club was founded. 

The shirt also comes from a rare one-season partnership. Multimax supplied Cienciano only in 2011, between Walon’s 2010 kit and the club’s move to another manufacturer for 2012. That makes the design easy to date and far less common than the better-known shirts from the club’s international trophy years. 

Its appeal is really in the artwork. Instead of using a generic template and adding a badge, the design carries a piece of Cusco across the fabric. It is the sort of shirt people notice twice: first because of the bright red and again when they realise there is an entire landscape hidden across the bottom.
