Juventus FC 2017/18 Home - Dybala 10 (Small)

There are two completely new Juventus identities on this shirt.

The first is on the front. For 2017/18, Juventus abandoned their traditional oval badge and introduced the radically simplified “J” logo. The club explained that the new mark combined three elements of its identity: the black-and-white stripes, the shape of the Scudetto and the letter J. This home shirt became the first Juventus home kit ever to carry it. 

Then came the change on the back. On 9 August 2017, Juventus announced that Paulo Dybala would stop wearing number 21 and take over the club’s famous number 10. It was a shirt associated with names such as Michel Platini, Roberto Baggio and Alessandro Del Piero and Juventus presented Dybala as the next player in that line. 

His beginning in the number was almost absurd. Only four days later, Dybala played his first competitive match as Juventus #10 in the Supercoppa Italiana against Lazio. Juventus were 2-0 down, but Dybala scored twice in quick succession to level the match before Lazio eventually won 3-2. 

Then the goals kept coming. On 17 September 2017, Dybala made his 100th appearance for Juventus away to Sassuolo. Sixteen minutes into the game, he curled in his 50th Juventus goal. He scored twice more to complete a hat-trick and remarkably it was already his second hat-trick of the season after another three-goal performance against Genoa. 

By that point he had scored 10 goals since being handed the number 10 and eight of them had come in the first four league matches: a Juventus record for the opening four rounds of a Serie A season. 

The season ended with Juventus winning their seventh consecutive Scudetto and fourth straight Coppa Italia.
