West Brom began the 2009/10 season back in the Championship after relegation, but they did not stay there for long.

Roberto Di Matteo had just taken charge and his first season became one of the strongest promotion campaigns in the club’s history. Albion finished second with 91 points, securing an immediate return to the Premier League.

The squad included Graham Dorrans, Chris Brunt, Youssouf Mulumbu and captain Scott Carson. Dorrans scored 17 times across all competitions, while Brunt led the club’s league scoring with 13 goals. 

The real connection is the season: West Brom’s red away design from a 91-point campaign that took the club straight back to the top flight and Reuben Reid's number 18.
