The Spurs Shirt That Lasted Four Seasons

This shirt had an unusually long life. Tottenham used the same yellow Umbro design from 1991/92 all the way through 1994/95, switching it from away to third kit for its final season.

Its first season was Gary Lineker’s last at Spurs. He scored 35 goals in all competitions in 1991/92 before leaving for Japan and was named the Football Writers’ Footballer of the Year.

Then came a new goalscorer. Teddy Sheringham joined in 1992 and won the first-ever Premier League Golden Bootthat season. By the time this shirt reached its final year, Jürgen Klinsmann had also arrived at Tottenham, making one design part of four very different seasons of early-90s Spurs history.
