Pedri Completed 65 of 66 Passes Against Italy at Just 18

Pedri arrived at Euro 2020 with only four senior appearances for Spain. On 14 June 2021, aged 18 years and 201 days, he started against Sweden and became the youngest Spanish player ever to appear at a European Championship. He went on to start every match of Spain's run to the semi-finals, wearing the number 26 shirt.

His performance against Italy in the semi-final was particularly impressive. Across 120 minutes, Pedri completed 65 of his 66 attempted passes, keeping Spain's midfield moving against the eventual winners. He finished the competition with a 92.3% pass-completion rate and was named Young Player of the Tournament, having missed just one minute of Spain's entire campaign.

The Adidas shirt was first unveiled in November 2019, with a pixelated red design inspired by the Spanish flag and a small lion on the back of the neck commemorating 100 years of Spain's national team.
