This Kappa design survived three seasons and somehow witnessed two ridiculous final-day La Liga escapes. In 1992/93, Real Madrid lost at Tenerife and handed Barça the title; one year later, Deportivo could have become champions with a last-minute penalty, but Djukic missed and Barça won the league instead. It was also the first Barça home shirt of the Kappa era, after the brand replaced Meyba in 1992.

The Shirt From Two Last-Day Title Miracles

Barcelona kept this home design for three seasons, but its first two produced almost unbelievable endings.

In 1992/93, Real Madrid went into the final matchday one point ahead of Barça. Madrid only needed to finish the job away at Tenerife, but lost 2–0. Barcelona beat Real Sociedad 1–0 at the Camp Nou and suddenly had their third consecutive league title.

Then history somehow became even stranger.

On the final day of 1993/94, Barcelona beat Sevilla 5–2 but still needed leaders Deportivo to drop points against Valencia. The match in La Coruña was 0–0 when Deportivo received a penalty in the final minute. Score it and they were champions. Miroslav Djukic missed. Barça took the title instead, completing Johan Cruyff’s run of four consecutive La Liga championships.

The shirt itself also marked a change. Kappa replaced Meyba in 1992, making this the first home design of Barcelona’s six-year Kappa era. Its repeating shoulder logos and subtle “Barça” pattern make it instantly recognizable as early-90s Barça.
