NK Croatia Zagreb 1999 Home (XL)

Between 1993 and 2000, Dinamo Zagreb were officially known as Croatia Zagreb, a name introduced during a period of major political changes in Croatia. Many supporters never accepted the change and continued calling the club Dinamo. The 1999/00 season would be their last under the Croatia Zagreb name, making this Umbro shirt particularly interesting. On 14 February 2000, the club officially returned to the name Dinamo Zagreb, ending a seven-year chapter in its history. 

That season, Croatia Zagreb also competed in the Champions League, where they were drawn alongside Manchester United, Marseille and Sturm Graz. Their opening match was against Manchester United at Old Trafford on 14 September 1999, just months after United had won the treble. Croatia Zagreb managed a 0-0 draw against a team featuring Beckham, Giggs, Scholes and Roy Keane. They also beat Sturm Graz 3-0 at home, although they eventually finished bottom of their group. The squad included players such as Robert Prosinečki, Igor Bišćan and Tomo Šokota. 

Domestically, the team had a successful season, winning the Croatian league title by finishing 14 points ahead of Hajduk Split. It was another championship for the club, but the change back to Dinamo made 1999/00 especially memorable. The appeal of this shirt is simple: it's an original-era Umbro design from the final months of the Croatia Zagreb name, combining a Champions League campaign with a unique chapter in the club's identity.
