Liverpool had Crown Paints as their sponsor, but television rules meant they sometimes had to play without the logo at all. This sponsorless version was worn at Wembley in the 1983 League Cup Final, where Liverpool beat Manchester United 2-1 after extra time. Ronnie Whelan scored the winner as Bob Paisley lifted the trophy after the final of his legendary managerial career.
