Juventus FC 2012/13 Away - Pogba 6 (Small)

Juventus’ 2012/13 away shirt looks simple at first: black, white sleeve detailing and the new Jeep sponsor. But the two gold stars above the crest make this version especially interesting, because Juventus’ players actually wore a different configuration that season.

After winning Serie A in 2011/12, Juventus considered it their 30th title “on the pitch”, while the official count stood at 28 after two championships were removed following Calciopoli. Instead of adding a disputed third star, Juventus sent the first team out with no stars at all and the words “30 SUL CAMPO” beneath the crest. Nike had already produced large numbers of retail shirts with the existing two stars, so supporters were sold versions like this one instead.

The shirt also marked the beginning of Jeep’s long-running sponsorship of Juventus. Its clean black design took inspiration from the club’s 1941/42 Coppa Italia-winning shirt, while the inside collar carried Giampiero Boniperti’s famous Juventus motto: “Vincere non è importante, è l’unica cosa che conta.”

Paul Pogba arrived from Manchester United in 2012 as a 19-year-old and took No.6, quickly establishing himself in Antonio Conte’s midfield. He genuinely wore the black 2012/13 away design, but his match shirts used Juventus’ starless “30 SUL CAMPO” configuration.
