Trippier Assisted the Winner on His Atlético Debut

Kieran Trippier joined Atlético in the summer of 2019 and took the No. 23 shirt. His first competitive appearance came in the opening league match against Getafe at the Wanda Metropolitano and he wasted no time making an impact.

Trippier played the full match and, in the 23rd minute, sent a precise cross into the box for Álvaro Morata to head in the only goal of the game.

That first season also ended up including Atlético’s huge Champions League win at Anfield, where Trippier started as they knocked out defending champions Liverpool 4-2 on aggregate. So this Trippier 23 has a lot going for it: first Atlético season, a debut assist and one of the club’s most memorable European runs, plus one of Nike’s cleanest Atlético third shirts from that era.
