The Shirt Design Raúl Debuted In at 17

This purple away shirt was there at the very beginning of Raúl’s Real Madrid story.

On 29 October 1994, coach Jorge Valdano handed a 17-year-old Raúl González his first-team debut away to Real Zaragoza. Madrid lost 3–2, but the teenager had just made the first of what would become 741 official appearances and 323 goals for the club.

The shirt lasted across 1994/95 and 1995/96, something less common today when most kits disappear after a single season.

Its first campaign was the better of the two: Real Madrid won La Liga in 1994/95, with Raúl emerging alongside players such as Iván Zamorano, Fernando Redondo and Michael Laudrup.

So those very 90s Kelme paw prints are attached to a pretty major beginning: the night one of Madrid’s defining players first stepped onto the pitch for the club.
