This red Puma shirt was Poland’s away design for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

The design reversed Poland’s traditional colours, using a bright red body with white shoulder panels, collar details and national-team branding. It was worn in Poland’s second group match against the host nation, Germany.

Poland had already lost their opening match to Ecuador, so the Germany game carried huge pressure. They defended for almost the entire night, even after Radosław Sobolewski was sent off late in the second half.

The match looked set to finish goalless until Oliver Neuville scored in the 91st minute. Poland had survived wave after wave of German attacks, only to lose in the final moments.
