This Newcastle United 1996/97 away shirt is one of the most recognisable designs from the club’s Entertainers era.

Made by Adidas, it combines a faded blue base with black-and-white details and the classic Newcastle Brown Ale sponsor. The number 8 was worn that season by Peter Beardsley, a hometown hero who played more than 300 matches for the club across two spells.

The shirt also belongs to Alan Shearer’s first season at Newcastle. He arrived for a world-record £15 million fee, scored 28 goals in all competitions and helped the team finish second in the Premier League. Newcastle also reached the UEFA Cup quarter-finals.

This blue kit appeared in the famous 4–3 match against Liverpool at Anfield, when Newcastle came back from 3–0 down before losing to a late goal. In an original kids’ size, this is a harder-to-find piece from one of the most exciting Newcastle teams ever assembled.
