Fiorentina FC 1989/90 Home ABM Re-issue *Brand New* (Multiple Sizes)

This purple ABM shirt comes from one of the most emotional seasons in Fiorentina’s history.

The design is unmistakably late 1980s: a deep purple body, subtle fabric pattern, classic fold-over collar and the huge yellow La Nazione sponsor across the chest. La Nazione is Florence’s local newspaper, which makes the shirt feel especially connected to the city rather than carrying the name of a random international company. The sponsor was used on Fiorentina’s home shirt during the 1989/90 season. 

That season was Roberto Baggio’s last with Fiorentina. Alongside players such as Dunga and Stefano Borgonovo, he helped the club reach the UEFA Cup final after eliminating Atlético Madrid, Dynamo Kyiv, Auxerre and Werder Bremen. Baggio scored the only goal across the two matches against Dynamo Kyiv as Fiorentina continued their unlikely European run. 

The final made the story even more painful. Fiorentina faced rivals Juventus and lost 3–1 on aggregate, with the second leg played on neutral ground in Avellino rather than Florence. Shortly afterwards, Juventus bought Baggio from Fiorentina, turning an already difficult defeat into one of the most famous breaking points in the rivalry between the clubs. 

This official ABM reissue brings back the exact look connected to that final Baggio season. The purple and yellow combination still looks completely different from almost every modern shirt and the local newspaper sponsor makes it feel like a piece of Florence as much as a football shirt.
