On 9 September 2006, Everton absolutely nailed the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park. Tim Cahill scored after 24 minutes, Andrew Johnson added another before half-time, then Johnson struck again late on to make it 3-0.

It was more than just local bragging rights. It was Everton’s biggest derby win over Liverpool for 42 years and the victory lifted the club to third place in the early table.Johnson, newly signed that summer, suddenly had a derby brace to his name just weeks into his Everton career.

That season ultimately finished with Everton in sixth place, enough to secure UEFA Cup football for 2007/08. So while this is training wear rather than a match shirt, it belongs to the campaign that gave Everton one of their most emphatic modern derby wins and put them back into Europe.
