Chelsea FC 2013/14 Home - Salah 15 (Medium)

On 22 March 2014, Chelsea welcomed Arsenal to Stamford Bridge for a match that was supposed to celebrate Arsène Wenger's 1,000th game in charge. Instead, José Mourinho's Chelsea were 3-0 ahead after just 17 minutes. Arsenal's afternoon became even worse when referee Andre Marriner mistakenly sent off Kieran Gibbs for a handball committed by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. 

With Chelsea leading 5-0, Mohamed Salah replaced Oscar in the 67th minute. Four minutes later, Nemanja Matić played him through and Salah calmly finished past Wojciech Szczęsny to score his first Chelsea goal. The Egyptian was just 21 years old and had arrived from Basel in January. His goal completed Chelsea's biggest-ever victory over Arsenal. 

Salah's first spell at Chelsea would ultimately be brief and few supporters could have predicted just how successful his Premier League career would become. After leaving Chelsea, he rebuilt his reputation in Italy before returning to England with Liverpool in 2017. That makes his original Chelsea number 15 particularly interesting for collectors: a shirt from the very beginning of his English football journey, before the number 11 and the record-breaking seasons that followed.
