This Bayern Munich 1995–97 home shirt comes from two successful seasons for the German giants.

In 1995/96, Bayern won the UEFA Cup. Led by Lothar Matthäus, they defeated Barcelona in the semi-finals before beating Bordeaux 5–1 across the two-legged final. It was Bayern’s first European trophy in 20 years.

The following season, Bayern won the Bundesliga under Giovanni Trapattoni. They secured the title with one match still to play after defeating Stuttgart 4–2.

Matthäus wore number 10 during this period and remained one of Bayern’s most important leaders. The red-and-blue stripes, Adidas design and classic Opel sponsor make this one of the club’s most recognisable shirts from the 1990s.
