The context makes this shirt much better. During the previous season alone, Arsenal had lost 6-3 at Manchester City, 5-1 at Liverpool and 6-0 at Chelsea, earning a reputation for collapsing in major away games. So when they returned to the Etihad in January 2015 to face the reigning champions, almost nobody expected what happened next.

Wearing this yellow Puma away design, Santi Cazorla took over the game. He buried a first-half penalty past Joe Hart, then in the second half floated the free-kick that Olivier Giroud headed in for 2-0. City’s 12-game unbeaten run was over and Arsenal had produced one of their most memorable away performances of the Wenger era.

That match also became the breakthrough moment for the Cazorla–Francis Coquelin midfield partnership that would drive Arsenal through the rest of the season and into another FA Cup triumph. Arsenal later singled the Etihad game out as the first real glimpse of how good that partnership could be, making this No. 19 directly tied to one of Cazorla’s defining Arsenal performances.
