The Shirt From Barça’s First Spanish Champions League Hat-Trick

Fermín López had never scored a senior hat-trick before 21 October 2025. By the end of Barcelona’s Champions League game against Olympiacos, he had three.

Somehow, every goal came with his supposedly weaker left foot. Barça noted that the last player at the club to score a hat-trick entirely with his weaker foot had been Lionel Messi in 2014.

The 6–1 win gave Fermín another record: UEFA confirmed that he became the first Spanish player ever to score a Champions League hat-trick for Barcelona. He also took home the Player of the Match award.

He wore this 2025/26 home design that night, with Nike’s unusual blurred blaugrana stripes, a pattern the club said was meant to give the traditional vertical stripes a feeling of movement and speed.

The season kept getting better. By late April, Fermín had already reached career-best figures of 13 goals and 16 assists, while Barça went on to retain the La Liga title.

So the Fermín 16 version is tied to the season when he went from useful attacking midfielder to genuine numbers machine with a historic Champions League hat-trick in the middle of it.
