THE STORY BEHIND THE SHIRT

The Shirt Built from Sardinia’s Coral Reefs

Cagliari called this shirt “Reef Tide” and the idea came directly from the sea surrounding Sardinia.

EYE Sport used Mediterranean coral as the central reference: not because it simply looks good, but because coral survives impact by staying compact and turning pressure into strength. The concept was meant to reflect a team acting as both a barrier and a moving force.

The shirt also hides details that only really make sense to Cagliari supporters. “Ovunque tu sarai” (“wherever you will be”) appears across the upper back as a reference to one of the fans’ chants. Along the lower hem are the exact coordinates of the centre spot at the Unipol Domus, placing the club’s home ground directly onto the shirt.

The result is one of those modern shirts that will probably age well because every major idea comes from Cagliari itself: Sardinia’s sea, the supporters’ voice and the precise location of the club’s home pitch.
