Arsenal FC 2015/16 Puma Training (XL)

The design used a bright red body, dark navy sections around the shoulders and sleeves and the white Fly Emirates logo across the chest. Small details such as the patterned panel near the shoulder and the “Gunners” branding on the back tied it into Puma’s wider Arsenal range for the season. 

The interesting part came when Arsenal played in Europe. Instead of simply wearing the same training shirt before Champions League matches, Puma created a separate European training collection in dark navy, turquoise and gold. Crucially, those pieces did not carry the Emirates logo. 

That difference came from UEFA’s equipment regulations, which placed tighter restrictions on sponsor advertising on non-playing clothing around Champions League matches. So two Arsenal training shirts from exactly the same season could look completely different depending on whether they belonged to the regular domestic range or the European one.

This example is therefore the regular Fly Emirates-sponsored training version, a nice collector detail from a period when the same squad could train in one Puma design during the domestic season and appear in an entirely different sponsorless version around Champions League fixtures.
