The Night Messi Finally Scored Against Bolivia: Twice in Nine Minutes

Argentina introduced this Adidas away design in 2015, with the shirt becoming part of the 2015/16 cycle that followed their World Cup final run. Messi’s name and famous number 10 were naturally one of its defining combinations.

One of Messi’s best moments in it came against Bolivia in Houston on 4 September 2015. He started on the bench with Argentina already in control, then entered in the second half and scored twice within nine minutes: first with a header, then again as Argentina ran out 7-0 winners.

The first of those goals carried an extra detail: despite everything Messi had already achieved for Argentina, he had never scored against Bolivia before that night. Four days later he was on the scoresheet again during the same US tour, grabbing an 89th-minute equaliser against Mexico in a 2-2 draw.
