This away shirt was designed as a tribute to West Ham’s earliest history. Umbro used dark navy to reference Thames Ironworks, the club West Ham grew out of, whose first kit was Oxford blue. The modern sky-blue stripe then connected that history with West Ham’s familiar club colours.
