Santi Cazorla scored nine minutes later and Nilmar added a third in the second half. Marcos Senna Scored From 25 Metres Just Nine Minutes Into the Match

On 27 November 2010, Villarreal travelled to Zaragoza sitting third in La Liga. The home side had recently appointed Javier Aguirre as manager and were hoping for a fresh start. But Marcos Senna ruined their plans after just nine minutes with an excellent goal from outside the box.

Giuseppe Rossi had carried the ball into the penalty area, but Zaragoza's defence managed to clear it. The loose ball fell to Senna, who controlled it with his chest and struck it first time from around 25 metres. His shot flew into the top corner past goalkeeper Leo Franco. Santi Cazorla made it 2-0 in the 18th minute, before Nilmar completed the 3-0 victory in the second half.

Senna was better known for controlling midfield than scoring goals like that. His strike against Zaragoza even appeared among RTVE's selections for the best goals of 2010. Villarreal went on to finish fourth in La Liga and reach the Europa League semi-finals that season, with Senna remaining an important part of the team despite injury problems.
