When Valencia launched their new Joma shirts on 1 July 2011, they decided to do something different. Roberto Soldado, Aritz Aduriz, David Albelda and Vicente Guaita arrived at the presentation by speedboat through Valencia's port. Aduriz was the player chosen to show off the bright orange third kit. It was the beginning of Valencia's five-year partnership with Joma and fans were so interested that the club's stores struggled to keep up with demand.

Valencia Launched Their New Shirts by Bringing Players in on Speedboats

On 1 July 2011, Valencia introduced their first shirts made by Joma after ending their partnership with Kappa. Instead of holding a normal presentation at the stadium, the club organised an event at the Veles e Vents building in Valencia's port. Four first-team players arrived by speedboat, with hundreds of guests and supporters waiting to see the new kits.

Roberto Soldado presented the white home shirt, David Albelda wore the black away shirt and Aritz Aduriz showed off the bright orange third kit. Vicente Guaita completed the collection in the blue goalkeeper shirt. The orange design featured a black polo collar, black sleeve details and the club's famous bat below the back of the neck.

The launch was a success. Demand was so high that Valencia's official stores struggled to keep up during the first hours of sales. On the pitch, Valencia went on to finish third in La Liga and reach the Europa League semi-finals, where they lost to Atlético Madrid. It was a strong first season for Joma and the orange third shirt remains one of the more unusual designs from that partnership.
