Catanzaro did not choose a random pattern for this away shirt. The entire concept comes from the wind that has shaped the city for centuries.

EYE Sport based the design on an old local saying: “A true friend is as rare as a day without wind in Catanzaro.”

The pattern uses four intersecting “V” shapes, representing the currents arriving from the Ionian Sea and the Sila mountains. The same proverb is printed along the lower hem, meaning the local reference is built directly into the shirt rather than added later as marketing copy.

There is also a smart collector detail. An NFC tag and an internal certification label identify whether each shirt was bought by a supporter or supplied to a player. That does not make this example player-issued, but it does make its origin much clearer than with most modern shirts.
