Worn Against Portugal at the 2022 World Cup

This was Uruguay’s official away shirt for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Puma gave it a large central panel containing the federation crest, national flag details and pale-blue lines inspired by Uruguay’s colours.

Uruguay wore the shirt against Portugal on 28 November 2022 at Lusail Stadium. Portugal won 2–0, with Bruno Fernandes scoring both goals. Uruguay created chances through Rodrigo Bentancur and Maxi Gómez, but could not find a way back into the match.

Uruguay later beat Ghana 2–0 but were eliminated from the group on goals scored. This shirt therefore connects directly to their difficult final World Cup campaign with Luis Suárez, Edinson Cavani and Diego Godín in the squad.

With the original tags still attached, this example preserves the shirt exactly as it was sold during the Qatar tournament.
