From 15 Points to Champions in the Same Shirt

Sunderland’s first season in this shirt was a disaster. They finished bottom of the 2005/06 Premier League with only 15 points, which was the lowest total in competition history at the time.

But Sunderland kept the same home design for 2006/07, and everything changed. Roy Keane arrived for his first managerial job and transformed the team into promotion contenders.

By the end of the season, Sunderland were Championship champions, finishing the campaign with a 5-0 win over Luton. The same shirt design had therefore gone from a record-breaking relegation season to a title-winning comeback in the space of a year.
