Sevilla Scored After Just 15 Seconds in a 5-1 Derby Win Over Betis

On 18 November 2012, Sevilla hosted Real Betis in one of Spanish football's fiercest local rivalries. The match had barely started when José Antonio Reyes put Sevilla ahead after just 15 seconds, scoring one of the fastest goals in the derby's history. Federico Fazio doubled the lead in the fifth minute, leaving Betis with a mountain to climb almost immediately.

Sevilla weren't finished. Reyes scored again in the 32nd minute and Fazio completed his own brace before half-time. Betis pulled one back through Rubén Castro, but Ivan Rakitić added Sevilla's fifth to seal a remarkable 5-1 victory. For the home supporters, it was the kind of derby result that would be talked about for years.

The 2012/13 season was also an unusual chapter in Sevilla's kit history. Umbro returned as manufacturer after the club's season with Li-Ning, introducing a traditional white shirt with a red polo collar and patterned sleeve cuffs. It was a short-lived partnership, with Warrior taking over the following year. That makes this design a distinctive reminder of the season when Sevilla put five past their biggest rivals.
