After four seasons playing alongside Zlatan Ibrahimović, Cavani entered the 2016/17 campaign as PSG’s undisputed number 9. Wearing the famous shirt number, the Uruguayan striker embraced the responsibility and delivered one of the best seasons of his career.

Cavani scored 49 goals in all competitions during the 2016/17 season, becoming PSG’s leading attacking force and breaking records at the Parc des Princes.

Although PSG narrowly missed out on the Ligue 1 title and suffered a dramatic Champions League exit against Barcelona, Cavani’s performances established him as a club legend and one of the most feared strikers in Europe.
