A Rare Shirt from Paraguay’s Copa América Run

This Paraguay 2015 away shirt was created for the Copa América in Chile, where La Albirroja produced one of their strongest tournament runs of the decade.

Paraguay reached the semi-finals after facing Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. The biggest moment came in the quarter-final, when they held Brazil to a 1–1 draw before eliminating them on penalties. It was the second Copa América in a row in which Paraguay knocked Brazil out of the competition.

The Adidas design replaces the country’s famous red-and-white stripes with dark navy, fine grey lines and red details. It also features the newer APF crest and a special graphic dedicated to the Defensores del Chaco, Paraguay’s national stadium.

Because Paraguay away shirts from this era are much less common than those of Europe’s biggest national teams, this 2015 Adidas design is a distinctive vintage find connected to a memorable Copa América campaign.
