Guardado’s Goal in the 2007 Gold Cup Final

This shirt was introduced for Mexico’s 2007 international campaign and was worn prominently during that year’s CONCACAF Gold Cup. The green base, white Adidas stripes and red curved side panels gave it a sharp modern look.

Mexico reached the final after beating Guadeloupe 1–0 in the semi-final. Their opponents at Soldier Field were the United States, continuing one of international football’s biggest rivalries.

Andrés Guardado put Mexico ahead in the final shortly before half-time while wearing this exact green home design. Landon Donovan equalised from the penalty spot before Benny Feilhaber scored the winner with a long-range volley.

Mexico lost 2–1, but the match became one of the defining early moments of Guardado’s international career. He would later become one of the country’s most-capped players.

Its unmistakable mid-2000s Adidas design gives this shirt a strong place in Mexico’s modern kit history.
