The Juventus Shirt That Was Literally Engineered to Feel Like the Moon

Juventus didn’t just make a space-themed shirt in 2024. adidas actually tried to put the surface of the Moon into the fabric. The subtle marks running through the black and white stripes imitate lunar craters, while the Authentic version uses a three-level engineered construction designed to create an uneven texture you can actually see and feel up close.

The idea came from lunar exploration itself. Juventus and adidas used space travel as a symbol of pushing into new territory, turning one of football’s most traditional striped shirts into something surprisingly experimental without abandoning the famous black and white.

This particular clean-front version captures an unusually short moment in Juventus history. Jeep had appeared on the shirt continuously since 2012/13, but its deal expired just before this kit launched, leaving Juventus without a main commercial sponsor on the front. Save the Children was added to the match shirts when the season began, meaning the untouched sponsorless version preserves the original look of Juventus’ brief summer between two shirt eras.
