Jordi Alba Scored Twice and Assisted Once in Barça's Crazy 5-3 Comeback

On 3 February 2021, Barcelona faced Granada in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals. With two minutes of normal time remaining, they were losing 2-0 and looked certain to be eliminated. Antoine Griezmann scored in the 88th minute to give Barça some hope. Then, in the 92nd minute, Jordi Alba headed in Griezmann's cross to make it 2-2 and send the match into extra time.

Alba wasn't finished. In extra time, he crossed for Griezmann to put Barcelona 3-2 ahead. Granada equalised from a penalty, but Frenkie de Jong restored Barça's lead. In the 113th minute, Alba scored again from another Griezmann pass, completing a 5-3 victory. Two goals and an assist from a left-back in a cup quarter-final isn't something you see every day.

It was a special night for Alba, who hadn't scored twice in a professional match since doing so for Spain against Nigeria in 2013. Barcelona went on to win the Copa del Rey that season, beating Athletic Club 4-0 in the final. Alba played an important part in that success and his performance against Granada remains one of the best examples of how much he contributed to Barcelona's attack.
