This jacket comes from the season in which Barcelona completed something no club had ever done before: six trophies in one calendar year. After winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey and Champions League, Pep Guardiola’s side added the Spanish Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup and finally the Club World Cup in December 2009. The sixth arrived when Lionel Messi scored an extra-time winner against Estudiantes with his chest.

Barça Finished 2009 by Winning Their Sixth Trophy in Six Attempts

Barcelona entered 2009/10 already coming off a historic treble, but instead of stopping there they kept collecting trophies. In August they won both the Spanish Super Cup and UEFA Super Cup, taking their tally for 2009 to five. 

One last trophy remained: the FIFA Club World Cup. In the December final against Estudiantes, Barça were still 1-0 down with a minute left before Pedro equalised and forced extra time. Then, in the 110th minute, Dani Alves crossed and Messi scored the winner with his chest to make it 2-1. 

That victory gave Barcelona their sixth trophy of 2009, completing an unprecedented sweep of every competition available to them during the calendar year. This 2009/10 Nike track jacket belongs right in the middle of that era: the season Barça went from treble winners to the first six-trophy team in football history.
