The Everton Shirt Fans Helped Design

This wasn’t simply another Everton shirt designed behind closed doors. Umbro worked with Everton supporters for around 15 months, asking thousands of fans what they wanted from the club’s next kits.

The result deliberately brought back ideas associated with classic Everton shirts from the 1970s, while Prince Rupert’s Tower (the symbol from the club badge) was also included because supporters said it was important to them.

There was another unusual detail: Everton stated that the shirts sold to supporters used the same design and materials as those worn by the players. That makes the 2018/19 home shirt a particularly nice piece from an era when the fans had a genuine influence on what the team wore.
