Colombia introduced this Lotto home shirt in 2004, using it through the qualifying campaign for the 2006 World Cup.

Its standout moment came against Uruguay in June 2004. Colombia went into the game struggling near the bottom of the table, then produced a completely unexpected 5–0 victory at the Metropolitano in Barranquilla.

Víctor Pacheco scored twice, while Tressor Moreno, John Restrepo and Sergio Herrera completed the rout. Remarkably, only around 11,000 supporters were inside the stadium to see it.

The win lifted Colombia off the bottom of the standings and revived a qualifying campaign that had looked almost finished, making the 5-0 one of the defining moments associated with this shirt.
