CF Badalona’s 2021/22 season produced a brutal stat: they drew 17 of their 34 league matches, exactly half the season. They actually lost only nine times, but eight wins and all those draws left them on 41 points in 15th place, which meant relegation from Segunda RFEF. It was the club’s first season in Spain’s newly created fourth tier and it ended with an immediate drop.

THE STORY BEHIND THE SHIRT

Badalona Drew Half Their League Games And Still Got Relegated

The 2021/22 campaign was the first season of Spain’s newly restructured Segunda RFEF and CF Badalona were placed in Group 3 alongside clubs including Numancia, Espanyol B, Terrassa and CE Europa. It was also the club’s only season wearing Score Tech, making this jacket tied to a very specific one-year supplier era.

Badalona’s problem was not that they were constantly being beaten, it was that they simply could not turn draws into wins. Across 34 matches they recorded 8 wins, 17 draws and only 9 defeats, scoring 29 goals and conceding 34. No other team in the group drew as many games.

They finished on 41 points in 15th place and were relegated to Tercera RFEF. So this Score jacket comes from a genuinely strange season: Badalona lost fewer than a third of their league matches, drew literally half of them and still went down.
