THE STORY BEHIND THE SHIRT

Football Painted Differently

This Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper shirt was created for the expanded 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.

Puma collaborated with New York artist and fashion designer Colm Dillane, better known as KidSuper, to produce special kits for seven clubs competing in the tournament. The collection brought together football, fashion and art through hand-drawn graphics and painted colour palettes.

For Dortmund, KidSuper took inspiration from the geometric structure of a honeycomb, a symbol closely associated with the club’s traditional black-and-yellow colours. Painted hexagonal cells cover the shoulders, while expressive brushstrokes extend across the lower part of the shirt.

The goalkeeper edition replaces Dortmund’s usual colours with a striking pink and purple base, finished with bright yellow details. It accompanied a Club World Cup campaign in which Gregor Kobel kept two clean sheets and Dortmund reached the quarter-finals before losing 3–2 to Real Madrid.
