A Training Piece from Milan’s Return as Champions

AC Milan entered 2022/23 in a position the club had waited more than a decade to recover: reigning Italian champions.

The previous campaign had ended with Milan winning their first Serie A title since 2010/11, so the following season’s Puma collection carried a different energy. This was no longer merchandise from a club trying to rebuild its reputation, it belonged to the first Milan squad in eleven years beginning a season with the Scudetto back in their hands. 

This piece sits outside the usual home-shirt story. It is part of the training side of the collection, with the club crest, Puma branding and Emirates Fly Better sponsor presented on a lightweight long-sleeve top made for work away from matchday.

That makes it a more unusual way to own something from the era. Match shirts from Milan’s title return are everywhere; official long-sleeve training pieces appear much less often, especially still carrying their original tags.
