Real Madrid 2004/05 Home Player Spec 'Ronaldo 9' (Medium)

By the 2004/05 season, Ronaldo Nazário was entering his third full campaign at Real Madrid. The Brazilian had already won the World Cup, two Ballon d'Or awards and the La Liga title with Madrid, establishing himself as one of the greatest strikers of his generation.

Real Madrid's Galácticos project was in full swing. Ronaldo shared the dressing room with Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, Luís Figo, Raúl and Roberto Carlos, while Michael Owen joined from Liverpool that summer.

Despite the incredible talent in the squad, Madrid struggled to keep up with Barcelona in the title race. But on 10 April 2005, the two rivals met at the Santiago Bernabéu for a Clásico that would become one of the most memorable matches of the season. Zidane opened the scoring after just six minutes before Ronaldo doubled Madrid's lead with a header in the 19th minute. Samuel Eto'o pulled one back for Barcelona, but goals from Raúl and Michael Owen helped Madrid secure a 4-2 victory, despite a late Ronaldinho free-kick.

For Ronaldo, scoring against his former club in a match featuring so many of football's biggest stars made the victory particularly memorable.

He finished the 2004/05 La Liga season with 21 goals in 34 appearances. Madrid ended the campaign second behind Barcelona, but Ronaldo remained their leading league goalscorer.

This 2004/05 Ronaldo #9 shirt comes from the height of the Galácticos era, when the Brazilian was still leading one of the most famous attacking line-ups in football and delivering in matches as big as El Clásico.
